Could the Sabres make a blockbuster trade this summer?

Now that the Stanley Cup Final is complete, the 2024 NHL Offseason is officially here. With this, roster moves around the NHL will start heating up. Well, they technically already have, as we have seen some big-name players like Linus Ullmark, Pierre-Luc Dubois, Jacob Markstrom, and Darcy Kuemper find new homes already.
Another name that hockey fans should pay close attention to this offseason is Anaheim Ducks star Trevor Zegras. The Ducks are listening to offers for the skilled forward, and he is generating plenty of interest because of it.

According to David Pagnotta, the Buffalo Sabres are one of eight teams who "have expressed serious interest" in acquiring Zegras. The other teams with Zegras reportedly on their radar are the Chicago Blackhawks, New York Rangers, Montreal Canadiens, Philadelphia Flyers, Ottawa Senators, Nashville Predators, and Calgary Flames.
The Sabres have already been connected to Zegras this offseason, but it appears that their interest in the star is increasing. It is understandable, as they want to improve both on the wing and down the middle. Zegras can play both positions, so he would help them in either way.
If the Sabres acquired Zegras, he would be a massive addition, as he would not only help them immediately but also in the long term. However, while the Ducks are hearing offers for Zegras, they are expecting a lot for him.
