The Sabres should look to add this Vegas star this summer.

The Buffalo Sabres' offense needs a boost, and because of this, they are expected to look to add a scoring winger to their top six this offseason. This year's free agency class could have some big-name wingers hit the market, so the Sabres should have options.
When looking at some of this summer's pending UFAs, one name who should immediately grab the Sabres' attention is Vegas Golden Knights forward Jonathan Marchessault.

Marchessault, 33, has been with the Golden Knights since their inaugural season in 2017-18. Since then, he has become one of the franchise's biggest figures. However, re-signing Marchessault will be challenging, with the Golden Knights already extending Noah Hanifin and adding Tomas Hertl at the deadline. Thus, there's a distinct possibility that he will hit free agency.
Marchessault would be a hot commodity if he hits the market. The 33-year-old had a sensational season for the Golden Knights in 2023-24, posting 42 goals and 69 points in 82 games. It would be massive for the Sabres to add a goal-scorer like that to their top six and power play.
Furthermore, Marchessault provides value because of his playoff success. He notably won the Conn Smythe Award and Stanley Cup in 2023. He also has over 100 games of playoff experience, so he is exactly the kind of player a team like the Sabres should add to end their 13-year postseason drought.
