The Sabres should make a push for this Coyotes forward.
The 2024 NHL Trade Deadline is almost here, and the Buffalo Sabres are in a position to make multiple moves. They already traded Casey Mittelstadt to the Colorado Avalanche for Bowen Byram, but they should be far from done.
The Sabres should continue to look to add pieces that will help them beyond this season. While the Sabres' playoff hopes are essentially crushed this season, their goal is to improve their group immediately. Because of this, one trade target who should be on their radar is Arizona Coyotes forward Lawson Crouse.
According to NHL insider David Pagnotta, the Coyotes have received calls for Crouse. If the Sabres haven't already, they should be among the clubs calling Arizona.
Crouse, 26, is precisely the kind of player the Sabres need. This is because he not only makes impactful offensive contributions but also provides a plethora of grit. He has also emerged as a strong leader for the Coyotes, which adds to his overall appeal. As a result, the 6-foot-4 winger would be a big-time addition to a Sabres team looking to take that next step into becoming a playoff club.
Crouse would be far more than a rental if the Sabres acquired him, too, as he is under contract until the end of the 2026-27 season.
In 61 games this season, Crouse has 20 goals, 33 points, 134 hits, and a minus-2 rating.
