Leading up to the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline, Buffalo Sabres forward Victor Olofsson was the subject of trade rumors. It was understandable, as he is a pending UFA who has not been used regularly by Buffalo this season. However, once the deadline arrived, the sniper stayed put.
Now that we know Olofsson will remain with the Sabres for the rest of the season, his goal will be to finish the season strongly. With the Sabres moving out Casey Mittelstadt and Kyle Okposo this week, Olofsson should see regular minutes again, and he will need to take advantage of this.

An impressive end to the season could lead to Olofsson garnering interest as a free agent this summer. He certainly has the potential to improve, as he has scored at least 20 goals and hit the 40-point mark three times in his career. Last season, he also had 28 goals and 40 points in 75 games.
It will be interesting to see how Olofsson performs from here. Now that trade chatter is no longer surrounding, don't be surprised if his production goes up a bit.
