The Sabres have recalled one of their forwards after another got injured at practice.
Buffalo Sabres star forward Jeff Skinner left today's (Feb. 26) team practice early after suffering an undisclosed injury. Following practice, head coach Don Granato also shared that Skinner will have imaging done before the club leaves for their upcoming Florida road trip.
In response to this unfortunate development, the Sabres have recalled forward Tyson Jost from Rochester.
The hope is that Skinner's injury is not too significant and that he will not need to miss any game time. However, with Jost being called up, it certainly is possible that he could be sidelined.
Speaking of Jost, this could end up being a nice opportunity for the 25-year-old forward to try to win back a permanent spot on the Sabres' NHL roster. He has spent a decent chunk of time in the AHL with the Rochester Americans following his demotion, posting three goals and 13 points in 23 games.
In 29 games this season with the Sabres, Jost has two goals, two assists, and a minus-7 rating. As for Skinner, he has 19 goals and 36 points in 50 games played.
