The Lightning need more defensive depth and should target this Coyotes defenseman because of it.
The Tampa Bay Lightning are looking to add at least one more defenseman to their roster before the trade deadline passes. While adding a top-four defenseman should be their biggest priority, it also would benefit them to add a depth defenseman, given their injury troubles this campaign.
Enter Arizona Coyotes defenseman Josh Brown.

Brown, 30, is a Coyote who could be on the move by the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline. This is because he is on an expiring contract, and the Coyotes' ongoing 12-game losing streak has tanked their playoff chances. As a result, the 6-foot-5 defenseman is a rental candidate.
Brown would provide the Lightning with another option for the right side of their bottom pairing if acquired. At worst, he would be a serviceable seventh defenseman to have when injuries arise or if the Bolts need to shake things up with their pairings. This is because he is a solid defensive defenseman who possesses plenty of toughness and physicality.
Brown, 30, has appeared in 32 games this Coyotes this campaign, posting one goal, six points, 56 hits, and 45 penalty minutes.
