This Sabres star needs to end the year on a high note.

Due to their recent struggles, the Buffalo Sabres' playoff hopes have dropped significantly. They are currently seven points behind the Detroit Red Wings for the final wild card spot in the Eastern Conference, and there are only 11 games left to play.
While this is tough news for the Sabres, their goal for the rest of the campaign should be to finish strongly. This is especially the case with star center Tage Thompson.

Thompson, 26, has had a down year for Buffalo, posting 21 goals, 43 points, and a minus-9 rating in 60 games thus far. While that is not bad production, it is a notable dip in offense, as he had 47 goals and 94 points just last season. Because of this, he needs to end the season on a high note.
Thompson has been heating up lately, recording two goals and five points over his last four games. Seeing his production spike up has been good, but now he must maintain it. If he does, it will be something for him to build on when he aims to have a bounce-back season in 2024-25.
