Pacioretty's regular-season with the Maple Leafs was a bit quiet, as the former Hurricane finished the campaign with five goals, 13 points, and a minus-2 rating in 37 games. Yet, he has undoubtedly stepped up his game big time this post-season.
Pacioretty, 36, is enjoying a major hot streak right now, as he has six points in his last three games alone. This includes a goal and an assist in the Maple Leafs' 4-3 win over the Florida Panthers in Game 2 of the second round on May 7.
Pacioretty's goal in Game 2 proved to be important, as he tied the game up at 1-1 in the first period. It was a nice goal for the former Hurricane, too, as he tipped a Morgan Rielly feed past Panthers goalie Sergei Bobrovsky. As for his assist, Pacioretty made a pass across the slot to William Nylander, and the Maple Leafs star fired it home.
With his latest strong game, Pacioretty now has put together two-point performances in each of this last three contests. Clearly, he is making a serious impact for the Maple Leafs right now.
Pacioretty spent the 2022-23 season with the Hurricanes, but two Achilles tendon tears essentially took away his campaign. In five games with the Canes that season, he had three goals.
