

Former Carolina Hurricanes forward Patrick Brown has signed a one-year, two-way contract extension with the Boston Bruins.
Brown began his NHL career with the Hurricanes after signing with the Metropolitan Division club in 2014 following his four-year stint with Boston College. In 28 regular-season games with the Hurricanes from 2014-15 to 2016-17, the 32-year-old forward recorded one goal, one assist, 52 hits, and a minus-6 rating. Brown also served as captain of the Hurricanes' previous AHL affiliate, the Charlotte Checkers, from 2016 to 2019 and led them to the Calder Cup in 2019.
Brown's time with the Hurricanes organization ended during the 2019 NHL off-season when he signed a two-year contract with the Vegas Golden Knights. Since then, he has had stints with the Golden Knights, Philadelphia Flyers, Ottawa Senators, and now the Bruins.
Brown played in 11 games this season for the Bruins, where he had one assist and a minus-2 rating. In 56 regular-season games with the Providence Bruins as their captain this campaign, he had 17 goals, 29 assists, and 23 penalty minutes.
