Former Carolina Hurricanes forward Patrick Brown has signed a one-year, two-way contract extension with the Boston Bruins.

Brown began his NHL career with the Hurricanes after signing with the Metropolitan Division club in 2014 following his four-year stint with Boston College. In 28 regular-season games with the Hurricanes from 2014-15 to 2016-17, the 32-year-old forward recorded one goal, one assist, 52 hits, and a minus-6 rating. Brown played in 11 games this season for the Bruins, where he had one assist and a minus-2 rating. In 56 regular-season games with the Providence Bruins as their captain this campaign, he had 17 goals, 29 assists, and 23 penalty minutes.
