Defenseman Jalen Chatfield rejoins full practice. A potential return against the Wild looms, offering a significant boost to the Hurricanes' blueline.

Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Jalen Chatfield seems to be on the verge of returning.

The blueline took part in his first full team practice since entering concussion protocol following a hit by Minnesota Wild forward Tyler Pitlick on Nov. 6.

The 29-year-old defender is with the Hurricanes on their current four-game road trip and according to Canes coach Rod Brind'Amour, Chatfield could be back in the lineup as soon as tomorrow.

It's going to be his call," Brind'Amour said Tuesday afternoon in Minnesota. "We'll see. He's been out for a little while, but I think if he's not in tomorrow, I'm sure he'll be back in at some point on this road trip."

Chatfield's been a missed presence on the Carolina blueline as the speedy defenseman was logging over 20 minutes a night before his injury.

With the team also missing Jaccob Slavin, Chatfield's absence only amplified that hole on the backend, but the team has done an admirable job of stepping up.

However, getting him back will be a big boost to the lineup regardless.
