Carolina secures blue-line depth as Ronan Seeley avoids arbitration, signing a one-year extension following his NHL debut and four seasons of reliable developmental play in Chicago.
The Carolina Hurricanes have signed defenseman Ronan Seeley to a one-year, two-way contract extension.
The deal will pay Seeley $850,000 at the NHL level and $100,000 at the AHL level, with a guarantee of $160,000.
Seeley, 23, has spent the past four seasons primarily in the AHL, where he's collected 20 goals and 72 points in 266 games, all while being a reliable defender.
The 2020 seventh-round pick made his NHL debut at the end of the regular season, suiting up for one game for the Hurricanes.
The blueliner had previously filed for salary arbitration, but the deal comes before the set date for arbitration, so no harm, no foul.
That leaves Alexander Nikishin, Justin Robidas and Cayden Primeau as the final remaining RFAs left for the Hurricanes to deal with this summer.
