After a 6-2 win over San Jose Friday night, the Stars travel down the road to Los Angeles for the second night of a back-to-back.

The first two games of a three-game road swing have demonstrated the different ways the Stars seem to win games.

Dallas had to fight back from three goals down in the third period Tuesday for a 7-6 overtime victory against the San Jose Sharks. Friday night in Anaheim, Dallas rolled to a 6-2 win over the Anaheim Ducks to increas their current winning streak to four games. Six different players scored goals, including defenseman Chris Tanev, who notched his first in a Stars uniform.

Saturday night, the Stars meet the Los Angeles Kings at Crypto.com Arena on the second night of a back-to-back. The good news is they only had to travel about 25 miles rather than across the country.

The meeting will be the second of three against the Kings in 2023-24, with the two clubs wrapping up the season series March 16 in Dallas. The Stars came out on top in the previous matchup 5-1 on January 16 in Dallas. Five different Stars skaters tallied goals, while 10 different players registered at least a point.

Dallas is currently in first place in the Central Division with a 39-17-9 record for 87 points. The Kings sit in third place in the Pacific Division (32-19-11, 75 points).

The two teams have been on similar paths in their last 10 games. The Stars are 5-3-2 after a seven-game stretch where they went 1-3-3. L.A. is 6-3-1, including a 5-1 road win over the Vancouver Canucks, the Western Conference's best team.

Jason Robertson currently leads all Stars skaters with 63 points, while Roope Hintz leads in goals with 23.

Kevin Fiala has 56 points to lead the Kings, and Trevor Moore leads in goals with 24.

Things to Watch for:

  • Roope Hintz and Jamie Benn have each scored two goals in their last two games. Hintz had previously been limited to just three points in his previous 10 games.
  • Jason Robertson, an Arcadia, California native, has nine points (4-5-9) in six career games against the Kings.
  • A win against L.A. would give Stars coach Pete DeBoer 600 wins for his career.
  • The Kings' Kevin Fiala has nine points (4-5-9) over his last five games.
  • The Kings have been stellar on the penalty-kill this season, allowing a league-best 27 power play goals in 195 shorthanded situations. They're especially lethal in killing penalties at home, leading the NHL with a 90.2% success rate.
  • Anze Kopitar and Drew Doughty have factored on the same goal 301 times, which ranks 30th among duos in NHL history.
