It’s the second most wonderful time of the year, after the trade deadline.

The regular season is over, and it’s time to get serious about the playoffs.

The Dallas Stars know what (and who) they are up against. They will play the Colorado Avalanche in the first round of the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

They whimpered into the playoffs, ending the regular season with a four-game losing streak. Despite this, they still finished second in the Central Division. Additionally, they recorded at least 50 wins for the second consecutive season.

The Avalanche poses a serious threat to the Stars. They are getting back their captain, Gabriel Landeskog, after a multi-year absence.
