Good things come to those who wait.

The Dallas Stars aren’t the only team during the 2025 playoffs to wait long for an important member to return to action.

Their first-round opponent, the Colorado Avalanche, waited years for Gabriel Landeskog to play. The Edmonton Oilers were missing their bull-in-a-china-shop Evander Kane, who returned for Game 2 of their series against the Los Angeles Kings.

Both of these players made a big impact for their teams, and the one returning for the Stars could be the same story.

Multiple sources are reporting that, if things go well at morning skate, Miro Heiskanen will return for Game 4 on Tuesday night. To say that his return is huge would be an understatement.

Heiskanen hasn’t played since January 28th. He was injured during an on-ice collision with Vegas Golden Knights forward Mark Stone. He was in the midst of a five-game point streak.

    Filling In For Miro Heiskanen

The Stars' blueline has done admirably, filling in for their star defender. However, special attention should be given to Thomas Harley.

The youngster has led the Stars in time on ice with 27:11 per game. He is third on the team in scoring with eight points. Harley has picked up the slack (and then some) with Heiskanen’s absence.

All of this is speculative until he shows up on the ice (or the bench) for the opening faceoff. But one thing is certain – when he returns, this hockey club will be considerably more dangerous.
