Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl connected for a highlight reel goal - even though neither of them scored.
EDMONTON -- Revenge never tasted so sweet.

Even though they were down 2-0 by the 16:34 mark of the first period, the Edmonton Oilers never counted themselves out of tonight's game. Six different Oilers registered multi-point games en route to an 8-3 victory: Mattias Ekholm, Connor Brown, Evan Bouchard, Zach Hyman, Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid.
Ekholm had two goals and an assist for the home team. His first goal was fantastic - but the second one had people picking their jaws up off the floor.

McDavid collects the puck at the Oilers own blue line, finds his way around the Buffalo Sabres player while cutting to the inside lane. Once he's there (and inside the opposition blue line) he cuts a quick saucer pass to a streaking Draisaitl - who tucks a behind the back pass straight to Ekholm who slaps the puck into the net with authority.
This is the kind of play that you expect when you have two top-10 scorers in the NHL on the same line. There's a reason why no Oilers head coach has been able to keep the dynamic duo apart for too long.
Credit to Ekholm for having himself a night - but McDavid and Draisaitl looked like they were playing a video game against junior high schoolers on that play.
