
The Edmonton Oilers captain was named one of the three stars of the past week in the NHL.
EDMONTON -- The Edmonton Oilers are now on day two of a nine day break before they play their next game. While most of the team will be heading for warmer weather to catch some rays and "z's", Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl will make their way to Toronto for the All-Star game.

They will form the leadership for Team McDavid, with Will Arnett joining them as a celebrity captain. The All-Star game festivities begin on Thursday February 1.
Reflecting back on the week that was - the Oilers came out of the week with three wins against the Columbus Blue Jackets, Chicago Blackhawks and the Nashville Predators. McDavid scored four goals and added four assists over the course of the week.
Eight points in three games was enough to earn him the second star of the week in the NHL. Nikita Kucherov earned first star honors with a nine point week in the three games that the Tampa Bay Lightning played. Matthew Tkachuk took the third star for leading the Florida Panthers to four wins with his four goals and four assists.
Kucherov will be joining McDavid and Draisaitl during the All-Star weekend events this coming weekend.
