The one thing Corey Perry is looking for, he may have with the Edmonton Oilers.

EDMONTON -- Corey Perry has been a welcome addition to the Edmonton Oilers.

Perry has been with the Oilers for a couple of months now. He has brought both tangible results and the intangibles to the team.

In 27 games for the Oilers he has nine points while only averaging 12:34 of ice time. Despite the relatively limited ice time for a player of his calibre, no word has come out of any possibility of him being unhappy about the role he plays with the team.

He's a very tenacious player in addition to being a world-class pest. Perry is at his best when he's getting under the skin of opposing goaltenders and players - a welcomed talent especially for a long playoff run.

Perry has chipped in with several fights so far this season. He's dropped the mitts four times since joining the Oilers - which has him tied with Vincent Desharnais with most fights for the Oilers this season.

Frank Seravalli was on Oilersnation Everyday a couple days ago, talking about a few different Oilers-related topics. One that popped up was Perry and his future with the team. Seravalli said, "I think that is going to be entirely up to Corey Perry."

"Is this a fit from a family perspective? The last few stops that he's had, one of the things that he's been craving has been some stability...and has more often than not wanted to stay. [I] think back to that two-year deal back in Tampa (Tampa Bay Lightning)."

There is a lot going on with Perry - so an extension might not be at the forefront of his mind at this point in time. But if things continue trending in a positive direction, Oilers management has to (in the very least) express some interest in bringing the veteran back after the conclusion of this season.
