EDMONTON -- It's good to have friends in high places.

Edmonton Oilers defenseman Philip Broberg has had a tumultuous season. He began the year with the team, but his year didn't turn out the way it was scripted. The year was supposed to be his arrival as an NHL regular but turned into a roller coaster ride you just want to leap out of.

That's all behind the young blue liner, as he started his second playoff game in a row. He bounced back from a few shaky shifts early in the game. After a word with Paul Coffey to reset, he settled back into his game and delivered the insurance marker in 3-1 victory for his team.

Broberg's shot was a thing of beauty. Evander Kane won the faceoff, then Adam Henrique shovels it to Broberg who half-claps it on net past Jake Oettinger.

Connor McDavid took notice of the Swede's game. He began by talking about his mobility and ability to transport the puck out of pressure, "[he's] skating everywhere, skating pucks out of his zone. He can be a one-man breakout at times. That's what he needs to do to be successful.

"His legs are a gift and he's gotta use them."

Broberg's goal was his first career playoff goal and playoff point. His skating and breakout ability have been much needed attributes to combat the Stars.

It's tough to see Kris Knoblauch change up the lineup for Game six - and I don't suspect that he'll do so.
