Edmonton Mayor Amerjeet Sohi followed through on his bet with the Sunrise, Florida Mayor.

EDMONTON -- The Stanley Cup Final was a whirlwind for everyone.

We are over a week removed from the conclusion of the championship series between the Edmonton Oilers and Florida Panthers. Unfortunately for Oilers' fans, they lost the series in seven games after mounting an incredible comeback.

They began the series down 3-0 but proceeded to win the next three games in a row. That run inspired hockey fans everywhere to place their trust in the Oilers.

This resulted in more than a fair share of wagers surrounding the outcome of the series.

Edmonton Mayor Amerjeet Sohi made a bet with Sunrise, Florida Mayor, Mike Ryan. The bet was that the Mayor of the losing team had to wear the winning team's jersey.

    Edmonton Oilers.

Earlier this morning, Sohi made good on his bet and took to Instagram to share. In his post he has a picture of him posing with other City employees while wearing a Panthers jersey.

At the end of his post, he urges the Panthers to not get too cozy with their newfound success, "The Florida Panthers played great hockey, and I hope that Sunrise is enjoying the celebrations. But don't get too comfortable, Mayor Ryan...Next year, the Oilers are coming back for the Stanley Cup!"

It will be a long road to get back into the Cup Final. However, it's nice to see Sohi enjoy the moment and be optimistic about the future.
