Hockey insider Pierre LeBrun reveals the Edmonton Oilers top trade deadline target.
EDMONTON -- Trade deadline day is only two days away.
With Friday swiftly approaching, the Edmonton Oilers only have one more game before the big day. Having dispatched the Boston Bruins in an exciting 2-1 game last night - their sights might be set on making their first trade ahead of the deadline.

Another shoe dropped yesterday, with the Vegas Golden Knights acquiring Anthony Mantha from the Washington Capitals. It was an incredibly shrewd deal for that organization - as they only paid a 2nd and 4th round pick plus convinced the Capitals to retain 50% of Mantha's salary.
With today being an off day for the players - as the Oilers next game is tomorrow - they might make a move today.
We may know who the first player the Oilers are set to acquire. Yesterday buzz was building surrounding Adam Henrique of the Anaheim Ducks.
Pierre LeBrun reported yesterday that, "Henrique appears to have emerged as the Oilers' primary target." On TSN Insider Trading last night, Chris Johnstone echoed that sentiment.
"It seems at this point the priority for Edmonton is to try to acquire Adam Henrique from the Anaheim Ducks. He's viewed as a good fit on multiple levels. He does have some trade protection in his contract but I believe he is warm to the idea of a move to Edmonton."
It is sure to be a rollercoaster ride for Oilers fans - and hockey fans at large - as trade deadline season is practically a second Christmas.
The next couple of days will certainly be interesting.
