Klim Kostin was traded to another new team yesterday.
EDMONTON -- It was an incredibly busy day across the National Hockey League on Trade Deadline day yesterday.
The biggest move (naturally) being the Vegas Golden Knights pulling off the ultimate salary cap gymnastics and acquiring Tomas Hertl from the San Jose Sharks.

Unfortunately for many Edmonton Oilers fans, the team failed to make anything materialize yesterday. A lot of fans will be disappointed at how much the Oilers didn't do - yet Ken Holland has made his team better without taking anyone out of the picture.
That's a massive win.
One former Oilers forward found himself traded to greener pastures yesterday. Klim Kostin was traded away from the Detroit Red Wings to the Sharks. The Red Wings acquired Radim Simek and a 2024 7th round pick for Kostin.
Things haven't gone particularly well for Kostin this season. While he's had his (un)fair share of injuries - he hasn't had particularly impressive deployment.
Kostin is on the lowest point pace of his career this season - only mustering four points in 33 games. That has him on pace for 10 points. He's been averaging 8:43 of ice time per game, which is about a minute and a half less than he played per game with the Oilers last season.
On the rebuilding Sharks, he has an opportunity to put his career back together. He won't have the same quality of teammates (skill wise) as he did with the Oilers - or even the Red Wings.
What he will have is another chance to prove that he has what it takes to be a great player at this level. That is all that anyone can really ask for.

He will be able to play his former team one more time, when the Sharks roll into Edmonton on April 15th, the last week of the regular season.
