Edmonton Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl has the Vancouver Canucks number.
EDMONTON -- The Edmonton Oilers look to close the gap for first place in the Pacific Division tonight.

Luckily for the Oilers, the Vancouver Canucks are in town. The Canucks have been up and down lately, with a 5-4-1 record in their last 10 games.
For the 2023-24 season, the Canucks have had the Oilers number. They have beat the Oilers all three times they have played them before tonight. The final scores of those games were 8-1, 4-3, and 6-2.
The last time they played them was November 6th - back when Jay Woodcroft was still the boss behind the bench.
One thing playing in the Oilers favor is the incredible success that forward Leon Draisaitl has had against their Pacific Division opponent. He has a 21-game point streak against the Canucks - and he's collected 34 points against them in that time span.
Only two players have had longer point streaks against the Canucks - Phil Esposito and Wayne Gretzky. Esposito has enjoyed a 24 game streak while the Great One dominated them for 29 straight meetings.
With everything that the Oilers are playing for tonight, I wouldn't be surprised to see Draisaitl add to his streak.
