EDMONTON -- Evander Kane has had a rough go of it this season.

The Edmonton Oilers forward has had several ups and downs. Last night featured a down in the form of an overtime loss for the team. It was a positive for the player as he found himself on the scoresheet with two assists.
Kane had a primary assist on the Adam Henrique goal, as well as the secondary assist on Darnell Nurse's goal. The line of Warren Foegele, Henrique and Kane have been developing chemistry and last night was a perfect reflection of that.
He was credited with seven hits and three shots in 16:22 of ice time - in addition to his two assists. It was clear to Kane what the difference in the hockey game last night was, "they scored in overtime, we didn't."
"We had some good looks where we could have had a couple more. But we didn't get the job done on that front and they scored in overtime."

With everything going on with the Coyotes right now, they could have come out of the gate with a limp. Instead, they score 5:20 into the first period, "it's the NHL, everybody is still playing for something no matter where you're at in the standings."
"Young team like that they're wanting to test themselves against a quality team like us heading into the post season. They are a young team with a lot of guys trying to establish themselves in the league, they're looking to bring their best every night and kind of playing with nothing to lose."
