Evan Bouchard, Darnell Nurse and Mattias Ekholm are all defenders who can excel offensively. Nurse has shown consistent offense at even strength while Bouchard might be the best defensemen on the power play in the entire league.

    Mattias Ekholm.

Ekholm, however is often praised for his defensive game (primarily). Lately for the Oilers, he's been dynamite.

With his goal in tonight's game against the St. Louis Blues he has 12 points in his last eight games - with four of those points being goals.

His last two goals have looked fairly similar.

Ekholm has 40 points in 71 games this season. He has 155 shots, 126 hits and 87 blocks while averaging 20:56 a night.

Ekholm has been with the Oilers for just over a year - and trading for him is the best move Ken Holland has made for the organization. The pieces given up to acquire him were more than worth it.
