On the heels of a 6-1 thumping of the Dallas Stars in Game 3, the Oilers look to get a player or two back in the (very) near future. During Monday morning’s practice, head coach Kris Knoblauch spoke to the media and gave an update on the status of Connor Brown, Calvin Pickard, and Mattias Ekholm.

EDMONTON – Some players are born to make history.
Brown suffered a hit in the second period of Game 3. After the hit, he did not return to the game.
Despite there not being an update after last night’s game, Knoblauch gave the media an update after practice. He told the press that Brown would not be available for Game 4.
During his scrum with the media on Monday, Pickard confirmed that he was injured on a play with Tomas Hertl of the Vegas Golden Knights.
When Knoblauch spoke, he revealed that Pickard may be the back-up goaltender for Tuesday night. For the first time since he last played, Pickard joined his team for practice on Monday morning.
Ekholm is a vital piece to the Oilers blueline. He hasn’t played in a game for quite some time, however, he is getting close.
Knoblauch labeled the Swedish defender as “day-to-day.” He also said that it has not been decided if he will play in Game 4.
Looking at the tea leaves, at least one player will return to the Oilers tomorrow night. However – as has been the case all playoffs long – it is prudent to wait until puck drop to know definitively who is in and who is out.
