The Edmonton Oilers are making their offer sheet decision come down to the wire. They have until 7:30 AM Mountain Time to decide if they will match the St. Louis Blues' dual offer sheets, or let Philip Broberg and Dylan Holloway walk and take the second and third round draft picks as compensation.

At this point in time there are two separate reports saying that the Oilers will not match either offer sheet.

The first to report this was the former NHL player Jordan Schmaltz. In a Tweet sent out last night he said, "Hearing the word around Edmonton, Alberta is Stan Bowman and the Oilers WILL NOT be matching the offer sheet on Phil Broberg. The Oiler brass is still mulling the option on what to do on Dylan Holloway but...I wouldn't be surprised if Holloway isn't back either."

Further to that, the 2 Mutts Podcast sent out a similar tweet, "we are hearing the Oilers won't match the offer sheets on both Dylan Holloway & Philip Broberg."

"It will be interesting to see if things change, it sounds like the Oilers aren't matching because they are working on some other moves. Adding these draft picks is key because they don't have a lot of picks in 2025."

Elliotte Friedman added his own two cents to the conversation this morning. He published a tweet where he said, "judging from the last week's moves, it appears the Oilers will not match and allow both players to join St. Louis."

If the Oilers are not going to match either offer sheet, waiting until the last possible moment to render their decision makes sense. They aren't going to do any favors for the team that targeted them with dual offer sheets.

At the time of this writing, no official decision has been made public. Expect this decision to be made public right at the deadline, or just after.

*Update: The Oilers confirm that they are not matching the Holloway and Broberg offer sheets. They have also made a separate transaction that includes acquiring Paul Fischer and a third round 2028 draft pick for future considerations.
