In an 7-2 Edmonton Oilers victory, there was only one goal that rocketed the fans to their feet.

    EDMONTON -- It finally happened.

The Edmonton Oilers big free agent acquisition in the off season has netted his first goal of the year. In his 55th game in an Oilers uniform, Connor Brown has scored his first goal of the season.

It wasn't the prettiest goal, but Brown finally got one.

Good things happen when you crash the opposition's net - and Brown shows you exactly why on that play. Evander Kane fired the puck to the net and it deflected off of Brown and past Darcy Keumper.

Even better than the feeling of getting the monkey off of his back, this standing ovation that Brown received must have made him feel like a million bucks.

The last time that he scored a goal was almost two calendar years ago - on March 24th, 2022. He was a member of the Ottawa Senators that year.

Say what you will about the lack of offense from Brown, this will certainly give him a boost a confidence.

At exactly the right time of the year.
