The Rangers' third line with Chytil between Will Cuylle and Kaapo Kakko has arguably been their best line over the past week.
On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy managers to stream or roster for the rest of the season. The recommended players and goalies can be used in standard fantasy leagues or for daily fantasy games.
Forwards
Logan Stankoven, C/RW, DAL vs. FLA (42% rostered)
Tyler Seguin, C/RW, DAL vs. FLA (24% rostered)
The Stars are expected to show some new lines in their Global Series opener with Jason Robertson moving down to L3 and switching places with Jamie Benn. It's an interesting move; it certainly balances out the Stars' three scoring lines, but it also means Stankoven stays with top scorer Roope Hintz, and I don't think the Stars make this switch if they didn't feel Stankoven could provide some of the offense that will be missing without Robertson. Stankoven has two points in his past two games.
The veteran line of Seguin with Matt Duchene and Mason Marchment will stay intact. Seguin has battled injuries but when he's healthy, he can still be a very formidable offensive threat. Seguin has two goals and five points in his past three games.
JJ Peterka, LW/RW, BUF vs. NYI (37% rostered)
Peterka is scoring at a point-per-game pace and played over 20 minutes in four of his past five games; why he isn't rostered in more leagues is a little perplexing. He's been a fixture on Tage Thompson's left wing, who has become an offensive force once again, and the Sabres' top line has remained intact relative to the rest of the roster.
This is a difficult matchup because the Isles' goaltending is excellent, but if the Sabres manage to score, the smart bet is on their top line.
Gabriel Vilardi, C/RW, WPG at CLB (24% rostered)
Vilardi was frustrating early in the season and he's starting to build a reputation for being a streaky scorer. Right now, he's heating up, which makes him a great option against a surprisingly good Jackets team. The Jackets give up quite a few scoring chances, but the challenge for the Jets in this game is facing the red-hot Elvis Merzlikins, the expected starter who's coming off a shutout performance against the Isles.
Vilardi has scored a goal and an assist in each of his past two games and maintains his role on L1 with Mark Scheifele and Kyle Connor.
Filip Chytil, C, NYR vs. OTT (3% rostered)
Over the past four games, Chytil and linemate Kaapo Kakko lead the Rangers with five points apiece, and along with Will Cuylle are a combined plus-14 while everyone else in the top nine have a negative plus-minus.
Chytil may be the No. 3 center but he's certainly not playing like one, and the gap between him and the struggling Mika Zibanejad really isn't that far apart right now. After a quiet start, Chytil's offense has really picked up and this is a favorable matchup; the Sens are really good at scoring goals but not very good at preventing them.
Defensemen
Owen Power, D, BUF vs. NYI (33% rostered)
Power's breakout season might be here. He's up to eight points in 10 games this season, and all but one have come in the past five games. Power's offense is capped because he's playing behind Rasmus Dahlin, but he can still be a very good streaming option. If Power continues this pace, he will be worth rostering for the rest of the season.
Honorable mention:
Stefan Noesen, LW/RW, NJ at CGY (33% rostered)
Josh Norris, C, OTT at NYR (29% rostered)
Kirill Marchenko, RW, CLB vs. WPG (27% rostered)
Sean Monahan, C, CLB vs. WPG (26% rostered)
Yegor Chinakhov, LW/RW, CLB vs. WPG (24% rostered)
Anthony Cirelli, C, TB at MIN (19% rostered)
Dawson Mercer, C/RW, NJ at CGY (11% rostered)
