The Minnesota superstar dismantled franchise records against Nashville, maintaining a perfect opening-night scoring clip while climbing to the top of the organization's all-time leaderboard in just seven seasons.
Kirill Kaprizov has played in seven season openers during his NHL career. He has recorded a point in every single one.
The Minnesota Wild star continued that streak Thursday night, scoring in the Wild's season-opening win over the Nashville Predators
Kaprizov has now recorded at least one point in seven consecutive season-opening games dating back to his rookie season in 2020-21. It is the longest such streak in Wild history, surpassing former captain Mikko Koivu, who recorded points in five straight openers from 2008-09 through 2012-13.
His latest opening-night performance also moved him into a tie atop another franchise leaderboard.
Kaprizov now has two goals and nine assists for 11 points in seven career season-opening games, matching Pierre-Marc Bouchard for the most points in season openers in Wild history.
Bouchard recorded two goals and nine assists in nine such games. Kaprizov needed just seven to match him.
The 29-year-old has been Minnesota's offensive centerpiece since arriving in the NHL, and opening night has been no exception.
Seven seasons. Seven season openers. Seven games with at least one point.
Kaprizov will have an opportunity to continue his strong start when the Wild return home to face the Boston Bruins on Saturday.
