Wild forward Mats Zuccarello had quite the connection with Draft Prospect Michael Brandsegg-Nygard at the IIHF World Championships for Team Norway.
Zuccarello, 36, finished the tournament with six assists in six games played. Brandsegg-Nygard finished with three goals and five points in six games.
All three of the projected first-round forward's goals were assisted by Zuccarello. Watching them play it seemed like the two worked well off each other. Zuccarello is a pass-first guy, Wild fans know that well.
Brandsegg-Nygard is a hard-working power forward who will drive hard to the net and look for a tip or pass in front. He displayed his two-way game and physical presence all tournament.
The 6-foot-1 forward had a great tournament and displayed he worked well playing with Zuccarello. Maybe that connection will be something the Wild look at come draft time.
Brandsegg-Nygard is projected to be taken in the first round and could be available at pick No. 13 when the Wild are picking.
