The Predators add another forward to the mix, making it 3 in the past 2 days.

The Nashville Predators continue to make moves as the team has acquired another forward ahead of the trade deadline. While Anthony Beauvillier and Jaret Anderson-Dolan were already brought in and Yakov Trenin was moved out, the Predators made their biggest splash by trading for Jason Zucker from the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for a 2024 sixth-round pick. No salary was retained in the deal, lowering the cost to acquire him even further.
The Predators addressed what needed to be addressed correctly. Zucker is a scorer and he has proved that many times in his career. He is a six-time 20-goal scorer and his career high is 33. It was just last season with the Pittsburgh Penguins where he scored 27 goals as well.
Zucker is another rental brought in by the Predators, but the team had the space to work with. Not only does he add more scoring if the veteran can regain his scoring form, he plays the game fast and is physical. This should help make up for some of the physicality lost after moving Trenin.

The cost to acquire Zucker was very low and this is another example of a low-risk addition for the Predators. Trotz has been very unpredictable ahead of the trade deadline this season, but we have to think that the Predators are done moving around forwards this season.
