New Jersey Devils prospect Daniil Orlov has had a strong start to the 2025-26 season in the KHL, and he has now been rewarded for it.
Orlov has been named the KHL's top defenseman for the second week of the season. It is easy to understand why, as the Devils prospect recorded two goals, three assists, and five points in three games for HC Spartak Moscow during the week. He also averaged 22:17 of ice time.
After this strong week, Orlov now has six points in his first seven games of the KHL season. This is undoubtedly encouraging to see, and the 6-foot-1 defenseman will now be looking to build off of it from here.
Orlov played in 52 games this past season with HC Spartak Moscow, where he posted five goals, 10 assists, and 15 points. Right now, he is on pace to crush those offensive totals this year with the KHL club.
Orlov was selected by the Devils with the 110th overall pick of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. If he keeps this kind of play up, he could become a nice part of the Devils' roster in the future.
