The New Jersey Devils have announced that forward Marc McLaughlin has been recalled from their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Utica Comets.

McLaughlin, 25, was acquired by the Devils on March 7 from the Boston Bruins in exchange for defenseman Daniil Misyul. Since the trade, he has posted five assists, 11 penalty minutes, and a plus-5 rating in 14 games with Utica. Now, he is getting his first shot with the Devils.

McLaughlin played in 12 games for Boston before being traded, where he had two goals and a minus-1 rating. In 26 career NHL games over four seasons, the 6-foot forward has six goals, 44 hits, and a minus-2 rating.

With this call-up, McLaughlin will now provide the Devils with another option for their bottom six. He also offers versatility, as he can play both down the middle and on the wing. It will be intriguing to see how much of an impact he makes with New Jersey after earning this call-up from here.
