New Jersey Devils prospect Seamus Casey is one of the Metropolitan Division club's most promising youngsters. The 2022 second-round pick appeared in his first 14 NHL regular-season games this season with the Devils, posting four goals, eight points, and a plus-3 rating. He also made his NHL post-season debut in the Devils' Game 5 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes in the first round.

Overall, when given the opportunity to play with the Devils, Casey certainly showed promise this season. He demonstrated that he can provide offense from the point at the NHL level, and the potential for him to break out next season with New Jersey is undoubtedly there.

When looking at Casey's resume, it is hard not to feel excited about his future with the Devils. During his final collegiate season with the University of Michigan in 2023-24, he posted seven goals, 45 points, and a plus-4 rating in 40 games. He was also impactful this season in the AHL with the Utica Comets, recording three goals and 18 points in 30 games.

With numbers like these, Casey clearly has plenty of promise. It will be interesting to see if he can translate more of this kind of offense to the NHL level with the Devils next season from here. If he does, he could emerge as a key part of New Jersey's blueline as they look to cement themselves as legitimate contenders.
