The Philadelphia Flyers hosted the Boston Bruins for their second matchup in a week, and while it wasn't nearly as high-scoring as their last meeting (a 6-5 loss for the Flyers), the orange and black still walked away with a crucial 3-2 win.
Travis Konecny found the back of the net for the second game in a row, scoring twice, while Tyson Foerster got the game winner for the Flyers. Justin Brazeau and Danton Heinen scored for the Bruins.
Head coach John Tortorella was impressed with the performance, saying his team "played really well" against this Bruins side, highlighting how how "[with] the young kids, I don't see any nerves. Mistakes are made, but mistakes were made by their defense too. But they go back out and play—high marks."
Konecny netted an electric power play goal to put the Flyers ahead 1-0, injecting a much-needed boost of energy into what was a fairly lethargic game before.
Justin Brazeau then equalized for the Bruins in the third period.
Konecny wasn't done scoring, getting himself a second goal to pull the Flyers ahead again 2-1.
Unfortunately for the Flyers, Danton Heinen tied it back up 2-2 almost immediately afterwards.
Tyson Foerster called game with an absolute missile of a shot, making it a 3-2 game.
There will be no rest for the weary, as the Flyers' next outing will be against the Florida Panthers on Mar. 24 at 6 p.m. EST.
