Anthony Di Marco reports that the Philadelphia Flyers are signing defenseman Hunter McDonald.

Anthony Di Marco reports that the Philadelphia Flyers are signing defenseman Hunter McDonald.

Di Marco initially reported an ELC but corrected himself shortly after.

Per his report, McDonald will head to the AHL and play with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.

McDonald is a 6'4 defenseman who played at the University of Massachusetts. The Flyers selected him in the 6th round of the 2022 NHL Draft.

In 23 games this season, he had one goal and five assists. The Flyers are beat up on the blue line, and while he likely won't get called up to the NHL this season, the Flyers continue to bolster their prospect pool.

The Flyers could confirm this at any point.
