The 2024 NHL Draft Lottery will be held on May 7, where the Philadelphia Flyers are expected to pick 12th overall. However, there is a chance that that could change.

There is room for movement up or down the draft order—the Flyers could move up by as many as 10 spots, or they could move down by up to two spots. The Draft Lottery will have one drawing to determine the team that will receive the first overall pick, and a second drawing that determines the order of overall selection.

It's important to note that the Flyers still hold the Florida Panthers' first round draft pick that they received in the 2022 trade for Claude Giroux. This pick will not be affected by the drawing, but rather how far the Panthers make it in the Stanley Cup playoffs.

The Flyers are overwhelmingly favored to pick 12th, with NHL.com putting their odds at 85.7%, saying, "Unless the Flyers are chosen with one of the two lottery drawings—or if a team among [the] Minnesota Wild, Pittsburgh Penguins, Detroit Red Wings, or St. Louis Blues comes up in the lottery to leapfrog Philly and jump 10 spots in the Draft order—Philly will select 12th overall."

However, if one of the aforementioned teams do somehow make that jump, the Flyers will be bumped down to pick 13th overall.

An extremely favorable scenario is possible in the fact that there is a small chance (NHL.com puts the odds at 5.1%) that the Flyers could snag the second overall pick. For this to happen, the Flyers would have to "come up in either the first or second lottery drawings."

There are also less-than-1% odds that the Flyers could pick third, fourth, or 14th overall.
