The Philadelphia Flyers announced that they have signed 2024 13th overall pick Jett Luchanko to an entry-level contract.
GM Danny Briere raised some eyebrows when he traded the 12th pick to the Minnesota Wild and then picked Luchenko.
In 68 games with the Guelph Storm, Luchenko scored 20 goals and 54 assists. The centerman is still just 17 years old and won't turn 18 until August. With such a young player, it is almost certain that he will need another year in the OHL to continue his development.
Luchenko possesses terrific skill with the puck and elite skating speed. He has tremendous vision and can win draws for his team.
