The Philadelphia Flyers announced that they have signed Oscar Eklind to a one-year entry-level contract.
Eklind is a 25-year-old left winger who played for Luleå HF in the SHl last season. In 48 games, he scored 17 goals and 11 assists.
The winger is listed at 6'4 and 220 lbs. His size and shot could be helpful for a Flyers powerplay that struggled this season. His contract doesn't start until the 2024-25 season.
Eklind could play for Team Sweden at the 2024 IIHF World Championship. He will take part in Sweden's camp next week, where they will play Finland in a four-game series.
Eklind is yet another prospect GM Danny Briere has brought in. The Flyers' prospect pool continues improving before the 2024 NHL Draft class.
