Russian goaltending prospect Alexei Kolosov is on his way to the Philadelphia Flyers system, according to an announcement from the official Instagram of Dinamo Minsk, where Kolosov has been playing in the KHL.
In the caption of their post, the team stated, "Alexei Kolosov is leaving the club. The goalkeeper will continue his career in the Philadelphia Flyers system."
Kolosov played 47 games with Dinamo Minsk, finishing the year with four shutouts, a SV% of .907, and a 2.39 GAA. He was also honored with an MVP award at the end of the season.
In his overall KHL career, Kolosov has played 132 games with a .909 SV% and a 2.59 GAA.
Fans have been salivating at the possibility of bringing Kolosov into the organization during the 2023-24 season, anxious to have a reliable goaltending pair that has eluded the Flyers. The netminders have gone through several changes within just the past few months, and while Sam Ersson has largely impressed in the No. 1 spot, the backup position has been swapped off from Cal Petersen to Felix Sandstrom, both of whom have not inspired a ton of confidence in viewers.
There has not yet been an official statement from the Flyers on where in the system Kolosov will begin his career.
