Megan DeRuchie-The Hockey News - Flyers Prospects: Who To Look Out For During World Junior Summer Showcase

It may feel like there's been ages since fans have had any semblance of Philadelphia Flyers hockey, but as we finish out July and head into August, there will be opportunities to see some of the top Flyers prospects in action at the World Junior Summer Showcase.

The Flyers have a whopping eight prospects representing each of the four competing countries at the showcase.

Five of those prospects will be suiting up for Canada, with defensemen Oliver Bonk and Carter Sotheran, forwards Jett Luchanko and Denver Barkey, and goaltender Carson Bjarnason all receiving call ups.

Noah Powell will be playing for the United States, who have split their group into two different squads—USA White and USA Blue. Powell will start out competing on USA Blue, but the two squads will unite as one group for the later-stage games of the tournament.

Heikki Ruohonen will be representing Finland, while Jack Berglund has been called up for Sweden.

This showcase is seen as the first step for these countries in selecting their rosters for the World Junior Championship (which will take place in January 2025).

If you'd like to follow along with the World Junior Summer Showcase, which kicked off on July 28, the schedule is as follows:
