Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports - Flyers Re-Sign Adam Ginning To Two Year Contract Extension

The Philadelphia Flyers announced that the re-signed defenseman Adam Ginning to a two-year, two-way/one-way contract extension with an AAV of $787,500.

Ginning played nine games for the Flyers at the NHL level, scoring his first NHL goal against the Columbus Blue Jackets on April 6. He spent the majority of his season with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, recording 15 points (two goals, 13 assists) in 58 games.

This agreement will see Ginning play on a two-way contract in the first year of his deal, but will then guarantee that he gets paid NHL-level wages in his second year.

Although his time at the top level was brief, it's widely agreed that the Swedish blueliner had a positive impact on the Flyers' defense, and the organization showing belief in his abilities by extending his contract is in line with their philosophy of moving the team in a younger direction. At 24 years old, Ginning fits in perfectly, and will be an exciting watch to see his full skillset at the top level.
