With the Flyers needing more forward depth, they should consider taking a shot on this Bruins forward.

As Denver Barkey heads back to the London Knights after spending the last couple of months watching the Philadelphia Flyers' training camp from the sidelines, he reflects on his recovery from illness and coming back a stronger player than before.

The Boston Bruins have placed forward Max Jones on waivers. With the Philadelphia Flyers needing more forward depth, they should consider claiming him.

Jones, 26, is a former first-round pick who still has the potential to improve his game. Perhaps playing on a rebuilding team like the Flyers could help him to take that next step.

Jones is well-known for his immensely physical style of play and speed, so he could be a decent player for the Flyers to bring in for their bottom six. However, if he hit a new level offensively, he could compete for a middle-six spot on the Flyers' roster.

Jones appeared in 52 games this past season with the Anaheim Ducks, where he had five goals, 15 points, and a career-high 127 hits. In four games with the Bruins this season, he has zero points and eight hits.

Nevertheless, with the Flyers needing some help right now, there would be no harm in them taking a shot on a former top prospect like Jones.
