Alex Nylander will remain with the Pittsburgh Penguins for at least another season.
The Pittsburgh Penguins are currently without a general manager, but that won’t stop them from handing out a contract extension.
It was announced that the Penguins have given forward Alex Nylander a one-year contract extension through the 2023-24 season.
Nylander played a majority of the 2022-23 season at the AHL level where he scored 50 points in 55 games.
In nine games at the NHL level with the Penguins, Nylander picked up a goal and an assist but earned his spot as a roster regular.
The one-year extension will carry an average annual value of $775,000 and is a one-way deal.
After being drafted eight overall in 2016, Nylander has appeared in 93 NHL games and recorded 14 goals and 20 assists for 34 points.
Nylander is set to represent Team Sweden at the 2023 IIHF World Championship next month.
