The young Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman didn't miss much time following a lower-body injury.
After suffering a lower-body injury during the Nova Scotia Showdown, defenseman P.O. Joseph returned to skate with his Pittsburgh Penguins teammates.
Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan labeled the injury as just day-to-day, and it seems after just a couple of sleeps, Joseph is good to go.
Joseph said following the practice that he feels lucky it wasn’t anything serious considering it’s still just the preseason.
“You just want everyone to be healthy as much as possible,” Joseph said. “Preseason is still good hockey, so anything can happen.”
During the exhibition match against the Ottawa Senators, it was clear that Joseph seemed hobbled at a few moments.
As it turns out, the injury occurred thanks to blocking a shot from his own brother, Mathieu.
“He kind of apologized for some reason,” P.O. said about his brother. “It’s part of the game. He felt bad.”
During the game the two came together for one of the heavier hits of the contest, but P.O. came out of that collision unscathed.
