The San Jose Sharks (15-37-5) host the Anaheim Ducks (20-35-3) on Leap Year Day.
Tonight, the Sharks are also celebrating Black History Night.
San Jose is coming off an abysmal performance where they lost 7-2 to the New Jersey Devils. Head coach David Quinn wasn't happy with how the team controlled the puck and is looking for a better performance tonight.
"When you keep giving them the puck, it's just hard to play," Quinn explained. "It is very difficult to play in structure. Teams that are successful structurally manage the puck well."
As for the lineup tonight, Quinn said Marc-Edouard Vlasic could return to the lineup but couldn't confirm what changes he made. Givani Smith, Calen Addison, and Vlasic stayed on the ice late during this morning's optional skate.
Anthony Duclair will be followed by Sharks' social media all day and will be mic'd up for tonight's game.
"I'm gonna be joking around a little bit and getting the boys ready to go for tonight," Duclair said about what it will be like while wearing a mic during warmups and the game.
Sharks projected line combinations:
Duclair-Granlund-Zetterlund
Zadina-Eklund-Kunin
Barabanov-Sturm-Labanc
Hoffman-Carpenter-Bailey
Ferraro-Emberson
Thrun-Rutta
Okhotiuk-Burroughs
Kahkonen
Chrona
Puck drop is at 7:30 p.m. and can be seen on NBC Sports California or the Sharks Audio Network.
