The Oilers thoroughly dominated tonight's game. Devin Cooley was left to dry, giving up eight goals on 22 shots. Danil Gushchin was positive tonight, scoring his first goal of the season and second of his career. Fabian Zetterlund scored the other goal for San Jose. In a tough situation, Georgy Romanov made his NHL debut but made 14 saves.
McDavid also scored the opening goal for Edmonton. Warren Foegele scored twice, and Zach Hyman, Dylan Holloway, Evan Bouchard, Cody Ceci, Adam Henrique, and Correy Perry scored the goals for the Oilers. Stuart Skinner made 19 saves.
There isn't much to say about this game except that the Oilers dominated. In a silver lining, Jack Thompson made his Sharks debut. Gushchin has two goals and two assists in five career NHL games. Mikael Granlund extended his point streak to 12 games.
