Georgi Romanov played the whole game and made 32 saves, while Tristen Robins and Klim Kostin scored the Sharks' other goals.
Mason McTavish and Leo Carlsson scored for the Ducks.
The line of Collin White, Danil Gushchin, and Ethen Cardwell was effective all night. All three forwards worked effectively on the forecheck and created turnovers, which gave them more O-zone time.
Gushchin had many opportunities to score all night but was just off. He has shown an excellent ability to use his speed and quick-release shot to generate offense.
Gushchin got an assist on the game-tying goal with a pretty pass from behind the net.
Kasper Halttunen made his preseason debut and had a couple of opportunities to shoot the puck but couldn't find the back of the net. Cagnoni ran the Sharks' top powerplay unit again, making the quarterback potion look easy.
Quentin Musty played on a line with Nico Sturm and Klim Kostin and was visible all night despite the missing offense. He did take two minor penalties, including the minor that gave the Ducks the go-ahead goal early in the third.
Jake Furlong made his Sharks preseason debut after having his junior season end early last season due to a shoulder injury. Matt Benning was his defense partner and played his first game since December 2023.
