EKLUND SCORES HAT TRICK IN OT; DEVIN COOLEY WINS FIRST NHL GAME; Sharks Beat Blues 3-2

William Eklund scored a hat trick, including the OT winner, giving San Jose native Devin Cooley his first NHL win. The San Jose Sharks beat the St. Louis Blues 3-2.

William Eklund scored a hat trick, including the OT winner, giving San Jose native Devin Cooley his first NHL win. The San Jose Sharks beat the St. Louis Blues 3-2.

Cooley made 34 saves, his first win for his hometown team. The Sharks have swept the season series against the Blues, outscoring them 12-3 across three games. 

Jordan Kyrou and Brayden Schenn scored for the Blues and Joel Hofer made 22 saves. Jake Neighbours left the game after taking a hard hit from Luke Kunin in the second period.

The Sharks scored two powerplay goals even after Calen Addison was ejected late in the first period. He usually quarterbacks San Jose's top powerplay unit, but Henry Thrun was the man at the point and had one assist.

Calen Addison was ejected with 20.1 seconds left in the first period. 

Luke Kunin fights and draws a Sharks powerplay on which William Eklund scores his 13th goal of the season. Eklund has a ten-game home points streak in which he scored 11 points. 

Eklund scored his second straight powerplay goal and 14th goal of the season after Thomas Bordeleau somehow fired a hard shot falling to create a rebound. Eklund adds another point to his ten-game home points streak, bringing it to 12.

Jordan Kyrou scored his 27th goal of the season on the powerplay to cut the Sharks lead to one.

Brayden Schenn scored his 18th goal of the season to tie the game late in the third.
