With the regular season less than ten days away, here's how the San Jose Sharks might line up come opening night.

The San Jose Sharks open the season at home against the Vegas Golden Knights on Oct. 12.
The NHL regular season starts on Oct. 10, meaning hockey season is officially nine days away.
Head Coach David Quinn and GM Mike Grier will decide who will remain with the NHL club. Looking further, here is what the opening night lineup could look like.
Barabanov-Hertl-Duclair
Eklund-Granlund-Zadina
Hoffman-Sturm-Kunin
Gushchin-Bordeleau-Peterson
Ferraro-Benning
Thrun-Rutta
Knyzhov-Vlasic
Blackwood
Kahkonen
At this moment, there is still no clear timetable for Logan Couture's return.
As for the three scratches, there are a lot of possibilities. Here's what might be the case.
D Kyle Burroughs, D Nikita Okhotiuk, F Kevin Labanc
There are so many combinations of players that could be the extra. Burroughs has had a strong camp and has been impressive whenever he gets into a preseason game.
Okhotiuk was acquired from the New Jersey Devils, and Grier is high on him. He is eligible for waivers, which makes the decision to keep him up even harder.
With those three staying up, that would mean some key players having to go through waivers to be placed in the AHL.
F Oskar Lindblom, F Givani Smith, D Leon Gawanke, F Fabian Zetterlund, and newly claimed D Ty Emberson.
Grier and company must make tough decisions and have challenging conversations to get the San Jose Sharks down to a 23-man roster.
